Growing up, I was always taught the old adage "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me". As much as I respect the adults that told me that: they were dead wrong. A bruise fades pretty quickly, but the human memory is fantastic, and I can remember most mean things that people have said to me over the years. As I've gotten older I've grown a thicker skin, and people's comments don't tend to bother me as much, but certain things can wear on a girl after a while. Now I'm not so sensitive I can't take a joke and I can handle just as much as I can dish out, but folks, there is such a thing as too far, and it's important to not go there. I'm not a spokesperson for the anti bully movement though I support it , but coming from someone that gets teased quite a bit, even in my twenties, I have to say: think before you speak. Sometimes those words that you think are harmless are more harsh than you might know, and when all is said and done, they could be the words that shatter someone's self image, confidence, or the one thing that was holding them together.
Food for thought...
Until next time...

Here I sit...
Hello, I'm Morgan, and I'm a pho addict.
I have slowly come to realize what a dangerous substance pho truly is. I might venture to describe it as my personal Vietnamese cocaine: the more I have it the more I need it. As I sit here in this hole in the wall restaurant, watching the seemingly irrelevant movie Spice World on their oversized tv, I can't bring myself to be upset by my addiction to decently priced Vietnamese liquid gold. It is pretty healthy, overwhelmingly delicious, and the perfect comfort food,so why give it up? On my quest to be more healthy I think I'll resolve to eat MORE of this positively delightful food! It always seems to put me in a zen mood.
And as proof of my addiction: I am the only person that could compose a rant about soup. You are very welcome.
Until next time....

Lets Give This Blog Thing a Whirl....
I do not consider myself a writer. In fact, I consider myself to lack the creativity for such things as blogging, though, I am often reminded that I am the world's biggest Grammar Nazi. That being said, I recently realized how much I enjoy reading blogs and deriving small inspirations from them. So here I sit, trying my hand at a somewhat creative form of writing, hoping it may gain some form of interest.
One of my favorite topics to read about recently has been the new trend of self-love, empowerment, and fabulous living. One of my newly found inspirations is The Champagne Diet, a blog focused entirely on loving everything you have to offer. I have to say, I hope this idea catches on fast! Putting a priority on your happiness, health, and self-image is so important to how others see you. About a year ago I began making those changes in my life to become a happier, healthier me, and I have never been happier nor felt better about myself. I would encourage anyone to make one small choice a day to work toward a better you, because it is the most worthwhile project you could commit your time to!
I plan to use this blog to write about my personal adventure toward bettering myself, inside and out. Healthy living, healthy thinking, and healthy me!
My rant is over for now....Until next time!
